Biography

Christian Rupp is an international innovation expert and leading digital adviser of more than 15 governments worldwide.
Since January 2019 he is engaged as Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) at MACH AG and CIO of the Joint eGovernment and Open Data Innovation Lab (JIL) founded by MACH AG and the University of Lubeck as well as the German Government of Schleswig-Holstein. Since April 2019 he is also honourable board member of the German eGovernment Competence Centre (NEGZ) in Berlin.

Christian Rupp is among others University Lecturer for Digital Transformation and eGovernment in Austria and other international Universities, honourable Executive Board Member of the UN WSIS WSA Awards, member of the scientific advisory board of the Research Studios Austria, advisory board member for New Media and Information Technology at the Austrian Private Modul University, Bertelsmann Stiftung advisory board on Smart Country Strategies and Head of the Austrian State Prix Jury for ICT and Consulting (Constantinus), as well as jury member of the German Federal eGovernment Award.

He has written digital strategies for nearly twenty countries, published and edited over 30 books and was awarded the Decoration of Honour in Gold for Services to the Republic of Austria in 20013.
